Summit Station, Greenland – June 11, 2019

Summit Station, Day 8 (6/11/2019):

An even more productive day as we were able to preserve 15 cores while reaching a depth of 98 meters! Another milestone for today, we saw our first sign of wildlife since arriving at Summit. We noticed the Arctic Gull around midday and fed him some of our food. This bird must have travelled many miles with no food to end up here, so we suspect he will be hanging around for as long as we continue to feed him. We felt it was fitting to name him Watson. Hopefully Watson is our good luck charm as we shoot for 100 meters tomorrow. Be sure to check back in!
