Summit Station, Day 11 (6/14/2019)

11 cores today and maximum depth of 111 meters reached! Our very first run took us over an hour but by the last run we were averaging less than 20-minute roundtrips, consistently recovering 50 cm cores. This effort was 3 years in the making and we achieved what we set out to do. This is an amazing accomplishment for Honeybee Robotics and we would like to congratulate and thank all of those involved throughout the life of the project. None of this would have been possible without each and every one of you! We found it fitting to do a celebratory toast by melting the tip of the final ice core… over three hundred year old ice. Cheers!
